LOVING YOURSELF
NAME + INSTAGRAM
My name is Danita Shari. My Instagram is @_Imdanita
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I am from Oakland, California
WHAT DOES SELF LOVE MEAN TO YOU?
Self love to me means taking care of self first, in the most honorable way.
WHAT ARE SOME WAYS YOU PRACTICE SELF LOVE?
I practice self love by checking in on myself and giving myself grace, along with daily reminders. Making sure I'm patient with myself is a major self love practice because I am typically my biggest critic.
WOULD YOU SAY LOVING YOURSELF HAS ALWAYS BEEN EASY FOR YOU?
Loving myself has not always been as easy as it is now. Part of my creativity was pushed because I was at such a low point in my life after getting out of a toxic relationship it made me question so much about myself. But, with time and care I began to remember how much worth I actually held and began to come into who I am today.

WHY DO YOU THINK SO MANY PEOPLE STRUGGLE WITH SELF LOVE?
Letting go of fear feels liberating! No overthinking, no what‑ifs, no ands or buts, no validation, just doing it anyway.
WHY IS HAVING SELF LOVE IMPORTANT IN ANY KIND OF RELATIONSHIP?
Having self love for yourself is extremely important when you're dealing with any kind of relationship because you have to make sure your needs are being respected and not taken advantage of. Set boundaries and love yourself enough to keep the wrong people out of your life.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE FIRST STEP TO EMBRACING SELF LOVE?
Removing what does not serve you.
I know it’s easier said than done. But if you start off with one little removal, that will help with the process.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STRUGGLING WITH SELF LOVE?
To anyone struggling with self love, I would say write an encouraging note to yourself, read it and apply it to yourself. It’s a journey, but worth it.
IF YOU COULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF ONE THING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
One thing I would tell my younger self is that there will be people and things that will question so much about who you are but remember what your family told you and the great things you see about yourself daily.
